Visiting Jersey in this summer? Here are four magical walks to put on your list. From sea view cliff paths along the island's coast to woodland walks with plenty of wildlife to spot.

Greve de Lecq beach from the cliff path

Greve de Lecq to Plemont (5 miles)
Be warned - there are plenty of ups and downs on this cliff path walk along Jersey's north west coast, but you'll be rewarded with stunning vistas and plenty of fresh sea air. Look out for summer coastal plants, sea birds and the Paternosters reefs in the distance. Don't miss making a stop at Plemont Café for homemade cakes - or one of the Greve de Lecq beach cafes if you're walking in the other direction.

Along the Railway Walk

The Railway Walk from St Aubin's to Corbière (4 miles)
Take a break from the coast and stroll along this leafy woodland path which follows the track of an old island railway up a gentle incline from the harbour village of St Aubin to Corbière lighthouse. Look out for wild woodland flowers and wildlife along the way, and when the tide is low, you can continue your walk out to the lighthouse. There's a café en route, and Corbière Phare restaurant at the end of the walk with picture postcard views of the lighthouse.

La Mare au Seigneur (St Ouen's Pond)

Take an afternoon to explore the stunning area of natural beauty that lies inland from St Ouen's beach, and you'll discover rare flowers and wildlife - all within just a short stroll of the bay's beach cafes and restaurants. Look out for Marsh Harriers, Bitterns and green lizards The best spots to explore this Site of Special Interest are around the National Trust's La Mare au Seigneur (St Ouen's Pond).

Stepping stones in St Catherine's Woods

St Catherine's Woods  (2 miles)
Tucked away just off the island's east coast, the walk through St Catherine's woods traces a 'perquage' route, an ancient path running from St Martin's Parish Church to the coast. These days, you won't find smugglers along the way - just walkers enjoying this pretty woodland path throughout the valley. Look out for Jersey's red squirrels, woodpeckers and plenty of interesting plants and flowers. Afterwards head to nearby St Catherine's Breakwater or Archirondel for seaside cafés where you can make a stop in the summer sun.
